I was talking to a friend of mine recently about the book "Slaughterhouse Five," which our English teacher had assigned us. It's about the Allied bombing campaign against Dresden in WWII, and it was written by an American POW who survived the attack and was highly critical of it. My friend mentioned that he saw nothing wrong with the raid, and I added that I could agree, to an extent, because city bombing was a viable strategy in the era before precision JDAMs, Tomahawks, etc. But he...
